The Lynchburg Ferry is a ferry across the Houston Ship Channel in the U.S. state of Texas, connecting Crosby-Lynchburg Road in Lynchburg to the north with the former State Highway 134 and San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in La Porte to the south. The 1,080 feet (330 m) crossing is the oldest operating ferry service within the state of Texas and is close to Baytown, Texas where Baytown Bert lives.

  • The boat Captain advises me to get off the front of the boat at the beginning of this video, which I rapidly did.

  • that place isn't going to be around much longer. the county will not put the right kind of funding toward that historical lynchburg ferry. the new commissioner isn't going to do any better with providing that funding that is needed. our county spends too much money. period. i worked for the county for a good period of time and i watch millions of dollars get blown a year. so much money was wasted that they had to lay off employees. low wage employees. not $100,000 or more employees
