I'm also a union member, and I don't agree. The solution is uniform enforcement of wage and hour laws. If you were to declare that, say, left-handed people weren't entitled to overtime, you'd see the same thing. Lefties suddenly popular w/ unscrupulous employers. Main problem is actually in our laws, which are unreasonable. We mess up other workers' economies (Mexico is real too!), make it nearly impossible for family members to reunite, & then complain. The solution is organization.

Janet Murguia is telling the truth. The buildup of hate speech is alarming, and its validation by "mainstream" media is worse.

Legalatina, "la raza" just means "the folks" -- "tengo que llamar a la raza" means "gotta call home." This is not from a Mexican.

Unions of course cannot include illegal workers! Illegal workers should be deported!

Illegal workers pose the #1 threat to any union, they are far worse than even scabs!

Our laws are very reasonable, we let in 1 million legal immigrants/year... more than any other country on Earth.

If one is LEGALLY here they can easily reunite with their families.

We didn't mess up Mexico's economy. Mexico is a corrupt nation. Perhaps Mexicans should have a revolution; maybe join EZLN and Marcos.

There is only one side to the illegal immigration problem, the Lou Dobbs side. The "other side" is merely advocating law breaking.

Liberals who support illegal immigrants are unknowingly siding with greedy U.S. corporations. Why? Because illegal immigration is about one thing --> more corporate profits via lower labor costs.

WHO WINS? Greedy companies AND illegal workers (earning FAR more than in Mexico).

WHO LOSES? The U.S. labor class (U.S. proletariat) via job losses to illegal workers & depressed wages.

Thus 120 years of U.S. wage struggles fought for since the Haymarket Rebellion of 1886 are being undermined.

Apparently, "inflammatory" to La RAZA means any factual account of stories regarding the negative aspects of illegal immigration upon our society....the truth hurts ....and our entire nation is hurting because of uncontrolled, rampant illegal immigration and lax enforcement of our immigration laws.

...and so I'm assuming you'd be directing those comments to the "journalists" from the National Assoc. of Hispanic Journalists as well including the prolific opinion writer Navarette.

and journalists should be held to presenting two sides of an issue, not using the issue in an inflammatory way to boost their failing ratings.
