The piano and violin in the Sigur Ros song "Staralfur," from their 1999 album Agaetis Byrjun, are musically palindromic: play them backward or forward and they sound the same. Pretty cool.

  • sigur ros is awesome band ever in my life . that cuz this is the same :)

  • not exactly the same, but both sound like music!

  • @HikariNoiresia 'they probably did that on purpose'.....Probably? Probably!?! It would be one hell of a stroke of luck if they did it by mistake. Did you also know that Avalon from the same album is an alternative take of the string section from Starálfur, just slowed down by about 4 times.

Also, the intro on the album is a backmasked section from the song Agaetis Byrjun. Pure class!!

  • holy shit... that's amazing

  • Takes. My. Breath. Away...

  • perfect music is that way :-)

  • Amazing...

  • Wow!

    That is something :]

they probably did it on purpose <3

  • Very cool, I've never noticed this.
