General Hospital 1985 Asian Quarter Part 214

Part 214. Robert gets his monthly update on the Cassidines. He tells Bert about it Bert seems a bit out of his element when Robert talks about the report and about his international connections. Robert asks if Bert can work with a woman, namely Anna as co-commissioner. Bert doesn't hesitate and says, "yes!" (suuuuure....) The Quartermaines come to collect Alan for lunch so they can plot the takeover of Sean's company. A depressed Alan tells them (and an eavesdropping Grant) that the hospital ship has been quarrentined in Alexandria...Egypt! Jimmy Lee thinks they can use this to their advantage. Grant hurries off to find Sean and tell him about the ship. Steve and Yank tell Jade that her blindness is temporary and she should restore her sight soon. Jade says that nothing is permanent. Her life, for example, was so beautiful and safe at one time. A wonderful family...and a brother she adored. Now she has nothing. Tony tries to convince Robert to bring Wu to see Jade to shake her out of her blindness. Frisco tells Derek that he doesn't really want to come back to Teen Time.

Is there a connection with Anna and the Cassadines (Helena)?

Well, Anna refers to this particular ghost from the past as a "he". This almost seems like they were trying to set up an Anna storyline involving the Cassidines. Too bad they never actually did it. Stefan, Nikolas and the rest of crazy Cassidine clan didn't show up again until a few years after Robert and Anna got "blown up" during the Cartel storyline.

Without ruining the plot, I think the Cassadine thing here actually helps to advance Sean's character...Something he ends up buying or wanting to buy?

Hmmm... you've lost me. I don't believe Sean ever had any storyline concerning the Cassidines.

It has to do with the future of his company and the Quartermaines' eventual fate (I won't say what that means for fear of being a spoiler)...I can't remember how, but I know that they factor in, even if it's all off-screen.

LOL. Well, hopefully, I can put Sean's defence of his company up later this year. This storyline has made me remember why I liked Sean so much.

I think there is an at least oblique connection between Anna, The WSB and the Cassadines in the form of... Cesar Faison! Some years in their future, Faison works with Helena to fake Lucky's death and kidnap him for roughly a year... later it comes to light that Holly's childhood nanny McTavish was also Faison's mother as well as Anna's nanny. Faison became obsessed with Anna then, and jealous of her relationship with Robert (if I recall correctly). Is there some connection there somewhere?

And you are NOT happy working with Anna! Be honest! Hey Grant where have YOU been? :) You still haven't shaved that mustache? Why does Frisco have a beard and a mustache? Was Jack Wagner making a movie or something?

Everyone was so concerned about the people in the Asian Quarter back then. It's safe to assume that today, the Port Charles mob would have a strong operation in such an area, preying on the people and destroying their lives/families. But Sonny and Jason are well-respected by just about everyone in town. The citizens of PC have awfully fickle morals.
