One gets the impression that John Blackwell could throw a baseball 100 MPH. He's as much a pro athlete as he is a drum master.

should be stable enough.

buy an aquarian "Heavy gauge" cymbal spring, and use any good double braced stand (tama is good for the price). The springs are good up to 24". If you have a 27" (I do lol) you can only mount them vertical, or perfectly horizontal.
