This vista tip will show you how you can disable those annoying pop-up notification balloons that appear at the bottom right of your screen. As a bonus, we will also disable the start menu notifications as well.
Here is a good question about disabling anoying things on windows 7. if you look at second 0:32 of your video there is a pop up text that shows when you hover over the folder that says "start menu and taskbar". This is a anoyance all across windows. if you move your cursor over anything it shows you theses stupid pop up text hints. can you please reply to this comment telling me how to stop this. I have windows 7 home premium not Pro edition so no gpedit for me. thanks
Why do people have to make videos for things like this? They could have explained the whole thing in one line, like gpedit.exe A > B > C ...
I would do it myself here, but I can't stand watching or even just scrubbing through the whole video to extract the steps.
Written words are much faster than Youtube videos! Gah!

I actually think that there are editions of Vista with gpedit in them. Mine is not one of them though.

I have deactivated uac but still get pop-up balloons. So, they're not the same.

Not possible, because they're not the same.

go on command prompt and type in msconfig. go to tools and launch disable uac. works the same

Is there a way to do the same, if you don't have gpedit.msc?
