the memories this brings back is unreal. we all wanted a world of peace and hope. Melanie was a true leader with her music moving our causes forward. In Jan 1977 I named my little girl Melanie in her honor.

Melanie was/is/always will be awesome! She got it when getting it wasn't fashionable.... she rang the living bell in the 60s and many heard it... today the bell still rings!

i grew up deaf but my mom always play melanie `s songs and i spend my life trying to sing someday i`ll be a farmer and what they have done to my song ma. and i still have orignal album. i recently been implanted with cochlear implants and been activated just few days ago . i am looking forward to hear her voice. i love her songs.

this is the very first Melanie song i heard..i was 9. 3 yrs later my dad comes home and says "i just got a job working for this folk singer named Melanie. this was many many years ago..:-)

i was there kneeling right beside her on the stage. I was the one who stormed the stage at carnagie hall.the year was 1972.Album came out in 73.Ever since people jumped on the stage.I also had the honor to be in her first video "Rock And Roll Heart".That was 1986.Still to this day we never lost touch.Recent was june 2011 bb kings new york city.Memories.

Thank you for the post. I haven't heard this song since I was a child. It reminds me of my Mother who had a similar look as Melanie in the early seventies and played her music to me. My Mother passed away a few years ago. Whenever I hear Melanies' music from this period it will always remind me of Mom who would probably be serving coffee and Donuts to the "Occupy" crowds today. Yes, always "Ring the Living Bell"!
