I just love you Mikey....you are a wonderful tutor and make everything so much fun!!! I have been yarning for over 20 years and I still am learning new techniques through your videos. I will be teaching two friends how to crochet within the next month and I am recommending this series for them to watch even before we begin so that they can visualize the basics. One of them is a skilled knitter and is now making baby hats for your charity! I have done 5 so far...my goal is 20!! Love you!

I'm starting to understand why my projects don't look as good as they should and why my hands and neck are stiff.

I'm working on my first major project a ripple stitch blanket that is basically going to fit a queen size bed when I'm done (I got a little bit over zealous with my chain stitches) Crocheting for 6-7 hours a night every night for there weeks straight WRECKED my neck to the point I could barely move it or sleep. It's taken almost two weeks for me to be able to turn my head normal again. If only I'd found this video sooner! Thanks for the tips Mike!

@916simone Put the yarn balls in a plastic bag. Make holes on the side of the bag and bring out the yarn from one balll through one hole. That way the yarns come out through different holes and do not get tangled

hi mike! how do I get added to the newsletter??
Me and my ten year old daughter just started the loom knitting a week ago. We have both managed to mess up a few things of yarn cause they keep getting tangled up. Can you recommend something we can do to keep the yarn from getting tangled up please. Im loving your tuturials and we both want to keep knitting and learning to crochet but i cant afford to keep replacing the yarn. Please help..

@916simone Yes... yarn can be a pain when it gets knotted and tangled....if you can't pull the yarn from the middle of the yarn skien then wrap the skien into balls this can be done with a yarn winder or by hand .....if using balls of yarn a trick is to place the balls of yarn in a bowl to prevent it from rolling away from you when using it.....hope that helps....cathy@mikey's helpdesk :)

I've been crocheting since age 11 holding my hook like a pencil (the way you don't ). I'm anxious to watch more videos and hope I can break 46 years of habit. My wrist and thumb really hurt the way I'm holding my hook. Also do it that way because my mom did!

@susieqmcf Ohhhh....dont be anxious...if you hold your hook differently thats ok....there are many ways people do things none more right than the other...hold your hook the way you want and try to get as much out of the tutorials as you can as far as other things go.....good luck....Cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)
