There seems to be a common trend among heroes of war. No matter which war, and no matter how courageous a soldiers own amazing actions, it is always a fallen comrade that soldiers point to as the REAL hero. Left behind are wives, fiancés, mothers, fathers, children, siblings, and extended families with a Family HERO who will be forever frozen in time. Each heros death ceaselessly affecting the lives of the many people with whom they were connected. It is to the loved ones of these soldiers, who wake up every morning with their loss, who find ways to continue living and contributing, and who lay their heads down each night with thoughts of their lost soldier to whom we dedicate this book. THEY are OUR heroes.
The lives of these fifty-six soldiers were sacrificed in or near Mosul, Iraq, from November 2004 through August 2005.
