  • This is so much easier if one speaks English from a thousand years ago. I.e. Ic neom swa spedig þæt ic mæge bicgean me win; ond win nys drenc cilda ne dysgra, ac ealdra ond wisra(I'm not wealthy enough to buy myself wine; and anyways, wine is not to be drunk by children nor those who become easily drunk (dysgra=those of dizziness), but by the old and wise. I didn't put in the accents, but that doesn't matter it's still very similar.

  • Ha ha

  • "skilja eftir" means to leave behind, but skilja on its own means "to understand"

  • I thought "skilja" meant "understand", but then it could also be a word with a double meaning, like there is in other languages too. Anyways, these videos are very helpful and interesting, great way to learn basic Icelandic. It's such an awesome language and very similar to my own language Norwegian! :)
