Poor Snape... he had the worst ending of all! I think he should have lived, I mean come on, Harry needs SOMEONE as a father figure. I know he had Sirius, and Dumbledore, and Lupin, and Mr. Weasley, but Snape was ALWAYS there for him, no matter what, even when the others were'nt, and even though Harry thought he hated him.

Snape is one of the greatest characters ever. I love how strong he is, and the fact that he didn't care about what anyone thought about him. Snape is one of these persons you think it's cold and heartless but deep down he has a huge heart and is so capable of LOVE. Ugh. He's just too perfect for words. I love him.

Excuse me while my heart breaks. Snape has always been my favorite character in Harry Potter. His love for Lily will always break my heart. He's just always seemed like the loneliest man in the world to me.

@tipsytinkerbell You're touching on the complexity of the character, but--with respect--pulling your punch about one aspect of him. Threatening to use Neville's pet toad as an experimental animal, humiliating Harry and many others routinely, punishing all of Gryffindor for things like Hermione knowing the answer to a question! These were cruel acts (although, yes, one understands they arise from his own pain). A very, very complex character.

@zahir13 I agree to an extent, although I think cruel to be too harsh a word, broken by his abusive childhood & heartbroken more like. I don't know many men who we consider as 'good and kind' who would've sacrificed everything (including his life & reputation) to protect the child of a woman he loved.....who didn't love him back and married his worst enemy. Many men I know would've said 'sod ya then...I'm off to find a woman who loves me, I sure ain't protecting a boy who isn't mine' :D

I love the fact that you put the scenes where both Lily and Snape said "Always".
I found the movie very subtle at some points and liked that they added the Snape/Lily patronus question when Harry meets Dumbledore at "King's Cross"
