Speed up internet in Windows XP effectively(New Tricks) 2010

This doesn't work for Windows XP Home Edition
This only works for Windows XP Professional

1. Go to Start- Run- and type: gpedit.msc


2. Expand the Administrative Templates branch


3. Expand the Network tab


4. Highlight QoS Packet Scheduler


5. Click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth and check the enabled box


6. Then Change the Bandwidth limit % to 0 %



Once you have done this click apply and restart your PC. After rebooting you should see a noticeable improvement in your net speed.

then go to "Control Panel" and click on "Windows Firewall"

go on "exception" settings and add your web browser on the exception to list to improve it's performance.


then I want you to click "Network Connections" w/c is still in Control Panel then right-click on Local Area Connection then click "properties".then highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties.

then in General tab I want you ti click "Use the ff. DNS server addresses" then type on

Preferred DNS server: 156.154.70.1
Alternate DNS server: 156.154.71.1

click ok

This is "DNS Advantage"


then restart/reboot.Then feel the new internet speed...Faster browsing!

@TheHat3z There's no way to increase your download speed. This shows how to increase page load time using ur web browser for faster surfing and not for faster downloading. It depends on your ISP for the connection or download speed you have.
