  • What about moving and keeping the camera steady, e.g. walking.

  • A couple other tips: check out "Videomaker's Wheelchair Dolly 101," also, strapping the camera to a plank and moving it with one person on each end is a fun solution as well.

    Cheers

  • Could always buy a tripod but this is impractical at times. Monopods are also good when you have to hold the camera for log periods of time.

  • thats common sence

  • ok, but still noticeable and not recommended. I was trying it out actually today. took me a solid hour to properly set it up to be smooth. But still not good.

If you cant get a steadicam, this would be a backup. But even those cheap $500ish stabilizers would be far better.

  • Yes, tripods workokay as a makeshift steadicam

  • If you cant afford a Steadicam use a tripod when walking.

extend the legs out as far as possible.

It changes the center of gravity and is smoother

  • this guy is mr. obvious.
