A Rhondda Valley town - the heart that gave the nation life during its industrial revolution - a strip development running along the valley floor - where people still say 'hello' and smile - a look around as it is today in 2009.
Thanks for posting this. Went to Treorchy Comp, graduated 1982. Looks the same. Love Treorchy and spent many an hour in the Park and Dare Hall. Happy St. Davids day from Los Angles, CA. Homesick Welshman.
@beshotep it is because the cultural strength is so weak in those valleys after the language decline...and theres no proper safeguards to revive the language and the private sector rarely gives a shit lets be honest...only 60 years welsh was commonly heard in treorci
Moved to Treorci 3 years ago from dismal grey Nottingham and I would not live anywhere else. My only regret is that Welsh is not spoken in the street, and I have to seek out the opportunities to practise what I have learned. I am not Welsh by genes, but Wales has adopted this homeless wanderer and I proclaim myself Welsh by choice!

Treorchy isn't a town - it's a village with the feel of a town.
