  • @bararseven the italian renaissance era was around the time of henry anyhow, perhaps a hundred years prior to, and so folk music would have outdated it, perhaps the style is similar to italian renaissance style but that could be down to a number of things... all in all it could quite possibly be composed for Anne... Although not confirmed.

    No one actually knows where the tune came from. But it does have medieval versions to it, I know because I sang one of those medieval versions.
