Woodwater instruments (hydraulophones) are like woodwind instruments but use water instead of air. This hydraulophone is a hyperinstrument (acoustic instrument with a pickup on each jet, and wireless transmission to other instruments).

  • wher can i buy one?

  • @dominicanhop1

FUNtain Corporation, 330 Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5T 1G5

  • i mean 'haven't seen one of these things ever!

  • Its kind of like a flute and kind of like a pipe organ but it runs on water rather than air. Search "hydraulophone" or "H2Organ"...

  • Didn't the Greeks invent this around 2000 years ago?

  • No. It was invented about 25 years ago, and worked on with due diligence. A number of patents been filed by FUNtain (the company that makes them) in various countries, and no prior art's been found. If you know of prior art, please post or email or send message ...

It certainly could have been built 2000 years ago but wasn't. (could have built pressurized water, high pipe fed by aquaduct, to build up water pressure in a pipe...)

    Best regards.

  • @jlamour

Actually jlamour is right. It was technically the first pipe organ to be able to play simultaneous notes. It was copied from the Pan flute but used water instead of air.
