are you able to listen to other audio from your iphone with the transmitter? like, if im looking at a video from youtube on my phone, will i be able to hear it through my car speakers too?

most of the time when i go to use this product in my car. i find a station with static and i plug the transmitter in the ipod the station get clear of static and it works just fine. then one day i did the exact same thing and the static was still there. basically what im saying is it works when it wants too. the station is clear but no music will play. and theres nothing wrong with the transmitter its brand new but any tips to get it working constantly would be very helpful. thanks (rueb8806)
