Larry Temkin is a leading thinker on one of the key issues of our time, equality. He has held visiting appointments at Oxford, Harvard, the National Humanities Center, and the Australian National University, and has advised the World Health Organization and the World Bank on global inequality. He has received numerous teaching awards from alumni, peers, and the American Philosophical Association. He is a professor at Rutgers University.
Toby Ord is a philosopher at Oxford University and the founder of Giving What We Can, an international organization devoted to fighting poverty in the developing world. Its members pledge to give 10% of their income to the organizations that best serve this purpose. In the year since its inception, over 90 people have taken the pledge, together committing over $27 million.
