Kweku Anansi is the trickster in Akan folklore. He appears in many stories used to teach lessons to children. His name, "Kweku" is given to a boy child born on a Wednesday, and the Akan word for spider, Anansi. The balaphone player in the Rooftop band, United African Spirit, has taken the name "Anansi", and is featured in this video.

  • @bbaffoe Thank you for correcting me on this most obvious error. I know better - I was born on Tuesday myself - Kwabena - although when I was installed I was given the name "Akwasi Amoako Agyeman".

  • Kwaku is actually a boy born on Wednesday.
