Great video and pics. I've been to all the places you mention in your comments. Siskwit bay trail going up to Island mine is th ebest place to see moose in the morning. I've heard wolves too but have never een one. Oh well, maybe next time.

I did a 14 day hike on this awesome island with Camp Hayowentha, on Torch Lake. Best hiking trip ever. I miss this.

@howdy131 n. Yes, the temperature change is very drastic in the shade versus in the sun. If you plan on hiking up on the ridges - which you most definitely should - then be sure to carry lots of water with you because the sun shining of the rocky ground is HOT. Of course the shade is a nice relief to the hot sun and there are still many awesome sites in the forest. Temperature at night is usually cold, although some nights are colder than others. When i slept i wore pants and a sweatshirt and us

@howdy131 es is the peacefulness of having almost nobody around. Many lake superior sites are easy access for the one night stay boaters, but if you are willing to hike inland for some peace and quiet to enjoy nature it is totally worth it. The weather at isle royale is almost unpredictable. During my stay there was very little rain, but the rain there was caught us by surprise. When there is the usual nice sunny day, Canada is visible from your campsite. Temperature there varies on your locatio
The sounds of Isle Royale, or the lack thereof are one of the most unique and enjoyable parts of the island. Why does EVERYONE have to overlay their video with such God awful music that a person has to turn off the sound or just not watch the video?

@dougpetty67 because if i didn't put music, there wouldn't be sound at all. Pictures are silent.

I am thinking of hiking and camping around IR next summer. Do you have any helpful tips or tricks? Where did you stay? Were wolves or moose a problem for you? What about the weather? Was it very cold at night? Thank you for any feedback!! :)

@howdy131 ed a sleeping bag fit for 20 degree weather. It worked out great. Some more tips i have: Carry at least two liters of water with you at all times. Whenever you reach a "pitstop lake" on your hike, fill your water again. It is essential to use water pumps on inland lakes and some coves and bays on lake superior. Sometimes you may be able to use iodine solution to purify your water. Also, make sure you have a proper fitted backpack, because a mis adjusted bag can tire you out more quick

@howdy131 ly and cause back aches. Some of the best places to stay in order are Hugginin Cove, Siskiwit Bay, and South Lake Desor. Campsites i do not recommend are North Lake Desor because thick evergreen forests are home to unbelievable amounts of mosquitoes, and Lake Richie because the lake is in the worst condition with algae and muck than any other inland lake. One more thing, bring a spare roll of toilet paper for the inland lake campsites (they tend not to restock the outhouses).

@howdy131 O ya, be sure to visit Minong Mine, Rainbow Cove, and the Feldtmann Tower (great viewing). Ishpeming point tower is not worth seeing because the viewing tower height is well short of the treetops Well that's about all I can offer in just a comment section. I hope it helped!
