Witness the last American tobacco harvest.

The most comprehensive documentary about tobacco farming ever produced.

One of the world's leading tobacco agronomists explains what makes American tobacco so popular, but don't be suprised to find out that most modern tobacco farmers don't even smoke.

Interviews with a Philip Morris executive, the president of the American Heart Association, and a Duke University history scholar add context and commentary to this portion of the feature documentary.

  • Where can I get a copy of this documentary?

  • "American Leaf: Tobacco's Last Harvest" is currently being edited and waiting for copyright clearances. It should be available in the near future.

    Thanks for your interest. GP

  • I believe Ruth Aaron in this video is right on the money.

  • More addictive than heroine! Are you fucking me?! This guy is hell bent on ripping down tobacco. I know that it's bad but son please say something that is true in order to make your argument. You can get cancer from practically anything if you are exposed to it too much. Why doesn't he say something like that?

  • I quit Heroin, I didn't quit smoking.

  • Nicotine is addictive but so are cokes, fast food, alcohol, video games. I am a tobacco farmer in Ky, i do not smoke but it bothers me when people try to have laws passed to ban the use of anything that does not directly harm someone else. it reminds me of a socialist gov. ie the seat belt law. and that "second hand smoke kills" quote is ignorant because if you dont like it move.

  • "Tobacco is more addictive than heroine", Cass Wheeler. Tobacco is a natural herb, cigarettes are a coporate made chemical laced industrial product. There is a difference.

  • please look at our tobacco machines.

    check COMANASSISI videos.

  • This looks like an awesome documentary. I don't even smoke, AND I was totally bummed about the "no smoking in bars" law that was passed in NY and is catching on in other states. Now when I'm at a bar all my friends leave to grab a cig and I sit at the bar and watch their beers.... so lame. Freedom of choice 100% - from a non smoker.

  • I think it is time. It is for the good of man kind. It has been a long time and a solution should have been met. It isn't to say that farmers will lose their farms and people will lose their jobs. We learn and grow something else that is positive. Something that is productive and helps the economy.

  • I believe he meant to say more available than heroine. That ore he's an idiot.

  • Tobacco is not evil. The tobacco that corporations come out with, Cigarettes etc...tobacco filled with chemicals..That is bad. But a nice pipe or cigar, it is good. As long as you dont inhale.

  • tobacco isnt as addictive as heroin what the hell?
