  • xspike, It is a 19" table with 14" travel, made by

    A2Z CNC. Search the name on Google and youtube. He has a new Z axis movie here. He has quite a few Sherlinie and Taig upgrade parts on his website, as well as other products.

  • you might want to cover up your Y axis leadscrew as those aluminium chippings will get pushed up into the ballscrew and cease up the axis, get a thin piece of rubber or something and concetina it up into a way cover, just a thought. good vid btw

  • Thanks Ryan. I soon plan to make a leadscrew cover as shown in a youtube video titled "Leadscrew cover for your Sherline mill". I'm almost done with this project which is lamps for my work area. I hope to get a better camera soon as well to improve the video quality...

    PS. I have the original sherline leadscrews, not ballscrews, or the A2Z low backlash screws. I've been using the Mach3 backlash compensation with good results. I have about 0.003" backlash on X & Y...

  • I run about the same about of backlash on my Sherline, and let EMC compensate for it, too.
