Rick Danko playing Ophelia and an incomplete version of "It Makes No Difference" live at "A Day In The Garden" which celebrated the 30th anniversary of Woodstock on the original grounds at Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel NY. This was shot on August 15th 1999 where Rick and band shared the stage with other Woodstock all stars. This may be some of the last footage of Rick and was shot less then 4 months before he passed away.

Rick Danko's band included Garth Hudson on keyboard, Professor Louieon piano/accordion/backup vocals, Jim Weider on guitar, Marie Spinosa on tambourine/backup vocals, Roger Mason on bass, Randy Ciarlante on drums, Tom "Bones" Malone on trombone, Jim Hynes on trumpet and Lou Marini on sax

  • Looks like Lou Marini is actually on clarinet.

  • I miss Rick and never knew him....thanks for the music

  • i miss Rick..

  • Ummm.. why does this say 9-15-99, and the caption underneath the video says August of 99... didn't Woodstock happen in August, so I'm going w/ August...

  • Rick's doing great here...and four months before he died. Think if he'd lived...he was working on "Times Like These", had a killer band (more or less a continuation of the '90s Band), and maybe even a record contract.

Imagine if he kept going. Maybe he even would've lost weight. Assuming Levon's cancer went into remission just like it turned out to do, we'd be looking at Rick, Levon, and Garth...still going strong.

Such a shame we lost him, but I'm always grateful for what he gave :)

  • three months before his death. legend.

  • Three months later and gone. Thanks for the music you left us.

  • Danko just looks awful here. How'd he let himself get in such pitiful condition? Very sad.

  • This is most of the 90's version of the Band with Professor louie and the crowmatix....Levon is missing (battling Cancer at this time) and Richard Bell...otherwise the gang is all here! Great stuff
