Press Release: September 4th 2010
For immediate release:
Wall Street estimates rose across the board as NASDAQ reported that shares of Google stock had dramatically increased to $715.00 per share, topping its highest stock selling price to date.
During a news conference held today , Google C.E.O. Eric Schmidt made the announcement that Google has selected the City of Rancho Cucamonga in California as their test city.
Eric Schmidt stated that he chose September 4th to make his announcement to coincide with Google's 12- year anniversary date of incorporation. Schmidt stated that forging this partnership with the city of Rancho Cucamonga was not only good for the city, but also good for the State of California which had been suffering from the current economic crisis. Rancho Cucamonga will serve as the "Missing Factor" in Google's formula for its high-speed, fiber optic network.
The Google project team took several months to analyze the data gathered from all the nominations that were made from cities across the United States. Schmidt noted that many cities were very creative in their campaigns.
