This time I made a video on another Pioneer LaserActive title. This one is a pretty awesome game titled Triad Stone.

On the beautiful Island of Yllin, a group of evil creatures led by their evil king Barrol, have stolen the legendary Triad Stone. Barrol has forced the people of the island to become his slaves....

A great Dar Nahn warrior named Ashe dedicates to fight the evil and restore Yllin! He must take back the Triad Stone at any cost!

This game is made by SEGA and distributed by Pioneer in 1994.

The graphics in Triad Stone are pretty much what you'd expect from a Dragons Lair style game. Awesome anime style artwork is throughout this game making for a pleasant experience. Not much graphically is coming from the Sega PAC though other than a map and typical sword emblem and energy bar.

The music in the game is done very well and seems to fit with each scene nicely. I like it quite a bit.

The sound effects are pretty decent coming from the Sega PAC, but are limited to powering up, using the sword, and moving in any direction. Typical for an anime style LD game.

The control is accurate and simple. You move the direction the arrows point using the D-Pad, and use the sword in combination with the D-Pad to swing the sword in different directions when prompted on the screen. So for example if the sword icon appears on the top of the screen, you hit A plus UP. Hit the button repeatedly to power up.

Bottom line: Not too many games on the LaserActive were killer, but this one is definitely a must have title IMO, and I recommend that you pick one up if you own a LaserActive system. Triad Stone has a great storyline, awesome scenes to play through, and it has a decent amount of challenge as well!

This disc is in 480i, and features Stereo sound.
