There are 1000 words in this video of a deeply loved, White Pure Bred American Bulldog named Buster, who came from a line of Champion Show Dogs (according to his papers).

Buster is so intellegent. Watch closley as he does his "Give me five" trick. You will notice how he keeps looking at me (the camera) to see if I am watching. I have a love connection with this dog and he knows it. Buster has been with us for only 3 years. He is a very loyal dog [only] towards those that he trusts & loves. Although, here in this video I see something uneasy in his eyes.......sort of made my stomache flip a bit and filled me with a deep sadness, for him.......Less then 10 days later, Buster killed Louie, the devoted family cat of whom he loved and trusted very much and like wise, Louie adored Buster.

On Busters behalf, I must add, the first 3 years of this puppies life was spent tied to a tree somewhere in Conneticut, 365 days a year. I also heard a whisper about a bat, in his puppy years (I do not like to think about it).

Than one day, my son Jacob came along, and with a heart filled with love and acceptance, broaght Buster home to Maine and began a lengthy time of love & rehabilitation. Jacob and Buster became fast friends. They both loved each other for the same reason...they saved each other. It was a mutual understanding.

In the summer of 2009 I had the privilege & honor of spending each day with Buster. I will never (ever) forget. Never in my life had I made a connection so stronge with an animal as I did with Buster, during that summer. What moved me the most was how happy he was to be alive. Busters enthusiasim seemed to rub off on those around him (of whom he loved & trusted). Those who did not know Buster feared him, simply by the sight of him. I always felt so bad about that, for I know Buster never fully understood it. He feared people more than they feared him.

We are now faced with a painful decision......huge sigh..........................
