ACDC - You Shook Me All Night Long - 5 year old drummer

This is Merrick on drums with his dad on guitar playing the ACDC classic 'You Shook Me All Night Long'. This version is definitely moving right along in terms of tempo. The audio quality is not that great this time around. Gotta work on that for next time.

Rather than record him playing along in the background with original songs I make him learn the parts and then play them live with a real instrument. It's not easy for a 5 year old kid but he gets a lot of valuable experience in the process with starting, stopping, cues, etc. He'll be a jamming machine by the time he's 10 yrs old - that's my goal, coz good dependable drummers are hard to find!

I REALLY like his Cadeson drumset but I had to put foam in all the drums to tame it down a bit coz the guy downstairs kept calling the cops. So, it doesn't quite have its normal punch but still sound good.

Huge AC/DC fan here and im glad i came across this video. wish my little brother would be like this. instead he's playing the violin.. ahah i started out that way and ended up playing metal haha anyway GREAT JOB!! he's an amazing drummer and has a bright future with it. teach him as many instruments as possible. the KISS tribute RULES! thanks for uploading this great videos! @slaytanic911 Thanks - enjoyed your comment. Btw, he is also learning piano and trumpet. He is pretty good on xylophone too but doesn't like it as much. Violin, as with any instrument, can be OK depending on where you go with it (see: Jean Luc Ponty), but if you play violin it will be hard to break away from classical music. Anyway, thanks and keep on rockin'!!!

i like to see that the younger generation are getting into older better music.

the reason im happy with all of your videos is that i am 13 and love acdc, zeppelin and sabbath. I am trying to get more younger people listening to good music and not lady gaga/justin beiber crap.
