None of the lecture notes and books explain what MIPS stands for... it's very odd.
Microprocessor without interlocked pipeline stages..It may help.

pronunciation is unclear, the guy talks too fast, his way of explanation in unclear and you miss some words as he speaks so everything becomes even more complicated...........
