I never liked Hitler much before hand but for killing Al Bowlly I truely hate him!

AWESOME video - Al Bowlly was one of the great crooners of the time. Too bad he wasn't as appreciated in the US as in Europe. Monia Liter was a one-man orchestra at the piano. He was probably classically trained as many of the popular music pianists were of his time.

Wonderful!

Incredible, thank you Harry.

I would never have thought I would ever be able to SEE Al Bowlly singing. I didn't know that there were films. I've been in love with Al Bowlly's voice since I found a CD with his songs in a supermarket. He is the true epitome of swing jazz singing. His fate was a strange and sad one, born in South Africa, famous in England, killed by German bombs.

Footage of Al Bowlly is alas very rare but there is an other brief scene with him singing "Goodnight Sweetheart" in my video of "The Ray Noble Band with Al Bowlly and Nat Gonella in Holland 1933".

Thanks for keeping that annoying copyright statement off the video. The other two uploaders on YouTube for this video have it on there and it's annoying. Yours is better.

That is because this was made from my original 16mm copy of the film. I had to cut off the opening credits because they are damaged. I am trying to have this restored with another copy I may aquire soon.

With all respect for Bing - Al Bowlly was the best crooner of the 1930's. And just listen to the great pianist Monia Liter....
