The Singing Rage of the 1950s, Patti Page, singing "Would I Love You", which peaked at #4 in 1951. The record sold over 1 million copies, one of 15 gold records she had during her career. She also had a platinum certification with her signature song, "The Tennessee Waltz".

  • Maybe a bit more than 15 golden singles. I don't know about the pre Rock & Roll era, but I counted nine of them from the middle of 1954.

  • Written for Doris Day. Jack Rael knew Patti could do special things with it and it became the followup to "Tennessee Waltz." A great, surging, yearning record with just the right arrangement.
