A rocket stove is a highly efficient way to cook with a very minimal amount of wood. All you need are some twigs or small branches or scrap wood and you can cook a meal without the use of natural gas. I love it, and I think that everyone should make one. They are really easy to make. There is a ton of information on the web. The concept can also be applied to mass heating which is my next goal. Enjoy!

  • Thank you much! I don't believe the chimney piping is galvanized so I guess I should be all set. I will certainly keep this knowledge in mind for future endeavors. "Mass rocket heaters" seems like the book to read, and I intend to do just that. Thank you for your help. I posted that video to spread awareness and also get feedback, so I am glad you took the time to do such. I really appreciate it.

  • Great stove for sure ~!

  • @cdimmm Wow, I need to be more skeptical. I wanted so bad to believe that my design wasn't flawed so I told myself that the piping probably wasn't galvanized. 2 seconds later I realized I still had left over piping so I picked it up, looked at the sticker and sure enough it is. I wonder if at this point the zinc coating has already been burned off so it is no longer an issue. I will refrain from using the current design until I know for sure. I will have to try to get my hands on that book.

  • @mkotfila22 I believe it starts to gas off somewhere between 500 and 700F so if your standing around while cooking you could be inhaling it. Chances are the outside container will never reach those temps but whatever your burn tube is made out of could. That info was brought to my attention via the "Mass rocket heaters" book.

  • I would stay away from any galvinized material..
