He says "We are sorry." I hear it clear as day honestly.

  • Pity it looks like Treibig is being hit by paint-balls at the end! I guess that is the only drawback of a movie of it's time, but otherwise a masterpiece. Another minor fault: what the hell does the German private say to Steiner after Treibig says "I had no part in it". I keep turning up the volume and pauing but can never make it out. That's either poor elocution from the actor or poor soundwork by the technicians.

  • Can you upload the battle scenes in this quality?

  • God bless Pekinpah, one of the greatest cinemetography scenes ever!

  • Yes, Steiner's men in this instance were wearing Soviet uniforms so that it would look like they were prisoners. Their reasoning was that the German sentries wouldn't fire on unarmed prisoners, but they might have itchy trigger fingers if they saw a platoon of armed men advancing on them. Too bad Triebeck was in the trench and sought to kill Steiner to cover his own disgrace.

  • so were those germans in russian uniformes?

  • 4:24 THE FUCKING IDIOTS!!!!

  • So sad, brothers killed their brothers.

  • I love this movie, the director, the action, the story... I feel that i'm there and they mean something to me! Sounds crazy?

But thats what makes this movie a master peice. This is one of my all time favourite films!

Thank you for uploading this scene. Please can you upload the scene where they are talking about Ideals, war? Its near the begining where they say "War is for the the truely cultured people" and "War is the extention of state policies"
