@Migs4000 True, but SASS rules state that the hammer must be resting on an empty chamber. Even with the Colt, which do not all have that tit, you can only load 5.

Fun fact about the Colt Navy's.
There is a peg between the nipples you can lock the hammer on, enabling you to load all 6 cylinders without having to rest a hammer on one of the percussion caps.

shouldnt have to firmly seat caps with deer antler. the capper does that already for you when you place the cap on the nipple with it.

If you load another cylinder before shooting it takes 5 seconds to take apart, put on another and re-assemble the gun, reloaded

I have the 5 1/2" SS version of the Ruger Old Army (ROA). I also have the snail capper and use a reloading stand as well because I like to use bullets and not round balls. It is true you can reload without any tools. However, it is hugely faster and easier to use a few simple, inexpensive gizmos. The capper is essential as you don't want to have oil from your hands contaminate the cap. Not to mention it's really fiddly to get them on with your fingers. Then there's the powder measure,

Tool junky! (Too many tools). Like he said in video 1, these guns are designed to not need any tools to load.
