刀 Katana Terminology

Nihontou 日本刀 Nomenclature
Labeling the main parts of the Katana (Japanese long sword) & Koshirae (sword furniture/fittings). I started taking video as a fun way to refresh my memory then ended up getting crazy w/ iMovie as usual, but now that it's done thought another person out there in YouTube land might find it helpful for learning/remembering the main parts of the katana and koshirae so here it is...
Most the footage is of a real nihontou, seen here alongside an iaito (aluminum training sword).

Do you know how many katana sword smiths there are in Japan? Would you also know if there is an association for the sword smiths? Is there a hierarchy among the sword smiths? Finally, is there a top sword smith in Japan, for example a sword smith that the Emperor might choose?
