Geert Wilders before court of Jan Moors

Today, it was the 1st real trial day in the prosecution against Geert Wilders and his opinions. The event is broadcasted live on Dutch state television and it's quite a story:

The first amazing thing was that the court wanted to show Fitna in court. That means that for the first time, Fitna will be broadcasted on Dutch national television.

Second surprise was that at the start of the trial, Wilders his lawyer, unexpectedly stated that Wilders will use his right not to answer any questions during his trial, as he as his lawyer had advised him to do so.

His lawyer also asked the court to allow Wilders to make a small 2 minute statement to explain this decision. During the short statement Wilders defended free speech and declared that he has said what he has said and does not take anything back from it. Also he added that he can't guarantee that anything that is attributed to him is also actually said by him.

The president of the court Jan Moorse then wanted to debate Wilders his decision, but again Wilders repeated that he wouldn't not answer any questions in court. Then judge Jan Moorse amazingly did not accept his statement in which he took his right not to answer the court and even allowed him selves to make a value judgment about it. Judge Moorse said: that in the press Wilders has been criticized to make statements he is not willing to defend during debates and that he now seems to be doing the same thing here in court.
The court then decided to ask him all questions they had planned to ask him about statements attributed to mister Wilders (without expecting him to answer them). For each statement they asked questions, often each time the same type of questions: "do you still stand behind these?", "did you say them spontaneous?", "did you ask a lawyer advice before doing them?", "what was you're intention when saying it?" and "was it really necessary to say it like that?".

Then after a short break, Wilders lawyer came back on the judge Jan Moorse his reactions on Wilders taking his right not to speak. Wilders and his lawyer found the reaction strange, because it's a basic right of a suspect. All suspects have the right not to speak on their own trial, a right that can't be disputed. Wilders his lawyer stated that the statement was irrelevant, if not it also could be interpreted as prejudices against defended Wilders. He then requested a court substitution (Dutch: 'wraking'), a disqualification of the court on grounds that it is no longer beyond dispute that the court was without prejudice against mister Wilders.

  • As an atheist I am also concerned with the rise of Islam as they would treat me like they would treat every other person who is non-Islamic... and you can guess how well that's going to go !!!!!

  • @dazujohe should be christian, maybe he even is,but just not to make an illusin its christian versus islam war,he just covers it up...anyway to me,as an european he should stay christian just as most of the europe..If most of the Europe would be christianas it was in the past, today we would never had this problem with islam...simple as that

  • @MegaAdida this prosecutor and judges should be prosecuted for braking the right for ,,free speech,,...this looks like a time of total cenzorship during the communism....

  • I agree! but He is atheist; )

  • Europe nowadays is under another communist-far left regime, but most of the people doesnt even realize that, cause they are brainwashed from the early stages of their lifes. However this is more of the purely social not economical dictatorship, and it opresses NATIVE Europeans in their OWN countries, makes them feel guilty about their countries past, their identity and culture, thats why the only culture wich really is discriminated nowadyas is our own-European Culture-all others are save and protected

  • @MegaAdida What world?? You mean the same politically correct appeasers who are judging Geert?? Our world is almost finished by our(???)politically correct,far-left,socialist politicall ,,class,,....

  • The trial is political: Dutch biggest newspaper "De Telegraag" today broke the story that the political trial against Geert Wilders is the direct result of ministerial intervention. The paper has proof that minister Hirsch Ballin (CDA) has personally involved himself in researching, steering and directing the prosecution of Geert Wilders.
