  • I can understand the need to break from the religious side because of its black and white stand on most issues. Seeking empathy from the Gay and Lesbian groups does have a sense of bonding with it. What I see though is a blurring of what transition is about. Transgenders and Transsexuals believe they were born in the wrong body. Theirs is a case of defining Gender Identity. Gays and Lesbians are happy with their bodies and are stating their sexual identity. Soul & body are 2 separate entities.

  • I dont know if i would be a good role model to other tgirls. i havent found myself yet...

  • Calpernia:

You are courageous and one of my heros. Thanks so much for your consistent support of LifeWorks and our youth!

  • I completely agree with you =) Music is a way to reach out to people's emotions and aspirations by expressing that of your own. It really breaks down most cultural and social barriers that others put up. For example, my dad is a huge homophobe, but is obsessed with Elton John =P

I get lots of viewers who are only interested in my music, not that I'm transgendered, which is quite pleasing. I find that playing music is a way to express how I feel inside, as opposed to how I look on the outside =)

  • @syndirella08 Phish has a cult of rabid fans larger than anything I'll ever know as a musician, but still I just don't personally care for their music and wouldn't spend even a penny on a CD of their greatest hits.

I don't care if you like my music, and I certainly won't give an iota of attention to your music in the future because your attitude has completely turned me off.

    Calpernia

  • @syndirella08 Be a musician, not a "transsexual musician who is owed the support and promotion of the community".

Focus on making good music, and you will gain fans whether your trans or not... If the music is good, you'll get people's attention whether or not they like you or trans people at all. Gene Simmons sucks as a human being, but everyone thinks his music is brilliant. And lastly, if someone isn't into your music, you can't argue or bully them into liking it.

  • @syndirella08 Syndirella, you're obviously a nut, so responding is a waste of my time, but I'll write this for the normal people reading:

Music is art and has nothing to do with my political and activist work. If I like someone's music, then I'll tell people I like it. If it doesn't affect me on some artistic level, then I won't.
