oh come on, it's made to be funny for kids, remember, people back then had a different kind of humour and it's just the idea of the man being held outside his house, outsmarted by animals. It's comical. :D

@bernardboy54 Come to think of it, there was an episode where Fred and Barney are trying to break into their friend's house so they can watch "the fights" and babysit at the same time. They break down the door. Why DON'T they just jump through the window?
