He was clearly saying that most of the major spending the taxes are supposed to pay for starts much later. Which is true. A lot of the new words come into play but the real spending does not. Although clearly this video is highly edited so I can't judge the republicans argument fairly since unlike Democrats. I can see this for what it is. In the video the Republican didn't get his point across but it was HIGHLY edited as to possibly hide the facts that supported the accuracy of his chart.

don't group all republicans under one stereotypic insult. How would you like someone to say all Democrats are pot heads or all democrats have loose sex with other people. The fact of the matter is not all republicans are rich not all republicans are corrupt. Republicans and Democrats are both human beings not different species. Both of them have bad corrupt people in their groups who try to deceive others. Republican and democrat parties are just labels.

@imbaaackk WHEN the benefits go into effect is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact. If the bill says the majority benefits go into effect immediately, claiming that they start over a thousand days from now is a lie. I'm sorry, but you can't twist something like that around. It's not an opinion.

Al Franken is an embarrassment, a lot of anger & absolutely no substance. Liberals love it when their opposition is being silenced and unable to defend their position; It's easier to lie that way.

Al Franken: "Madam President, please tell the other side to sit down and shut up so we can win this debate."

@srookard Very glad someone else noticed this.

This video is so stupid. Both sides are merely speaking their own opinions. IT all comes down to Speculation. There's no reason to think that Al Franken is correct. Sorry guys, but you're all clouded by your political beliefs. Personally, I don't belong to either party.

Thune was talking about the majority of benefits, not the ancillary programs. Franken lied when he claimed that the majority benefits kick in right away. That is a falsehood.

it figures they cut out John Thunes response. Franken and the democraps are complete con artists.

@archon099 Well, somebody would have to be a fool to believe he built the internet from scratch by himself. But I can see your point: fools do exist.
How do you know if a Republican is lying?
His lips are moving.

Al Franken is not naive! Thanks, Al, for speaking the truth! The GOP needs a behemoth fact-checker for pretty much every word they utter and write. Goodness! It boggles the mind.
