  • Wow the EXO 1000 being considered a touring helmet seems to be a real piece of shit. Glad to see you got it for $80.00. I paid $215 delieverd. I am suprised with todays technology a helmet company would provide such false information such as it being a all weather/touring helmet. I get mine in next week. I will be sure to do a review on it next month. If it sucks I will get my money back. Scorpion supplies a 3 year warranty. I also heard their customer service is very good. We shall see....

  • @JimmyGunXD556 Very true, the 1000 is a touring helmet which is why I wear it in the rain. I wouldn't wear my Shoei during the winter. I've worn that in the rain and it doesn't keep out the rain as much as the EXO 1000 does. Nothing is completely waterproof but I haven't had the problem that that one person said where the water came in through the vent yet.

  • you didnt mention its ability to pump up the cheek pads to give a better fit if its been worn for a while.. or is that a different one?

  • @kwanizac It is actually still pretty tight if you don't pump up the cheek pads, the only time I do is when I don't want a whole bunch of air coming through from underneath.

  • I think the fogless layer or whatever is only put on the outside, I think they figured that if you have the deflector you don't need it on the inside or somethin', I hate bulky gloves cause of stuff like that, I don't like feeling like I'm on one of those like bio-haz suits lol...

I would love to hear if anything did come apart or leak or anything later on, since I'm thinking about buying this...

So this or a prev-year SHOEI??

  • @ckboy023 ...I do love my Shoei though. It's more a summer time helmet and it whistles a lot because it can pump a lot of air through it. It's also super light compared to the EXO 1000. So my 1000 is more for winter riding while the Shoei is for summer.

  • Great helmet this has been on my list for a few months now.

  • @ashf00t Cheers, thanks, I think I'll be putting a bit more money into it and buy the Shoei I hear they are a lot lighter and much better quality on the long run, plus I live in Mexico (year-round riding weather yay!) so I'm looking for the best amount of air flow, I really can't wear leathers unless it's seriously winter temp, about 20 days a year, except that it's just heat, heat, heat...

  • @ckboy023 no the anti-fog coating is on the inside. They also put an anti-scratch coating on the outside just don't put any kind of solution other than soap and water to clean the outside otherwise it will come off. I accidentally did and now I have a very annoying spot in my field of view.

The only time the helmet leaks is if you open the visor when it rains and it's a great helmet! The internal visor comes in handy a lot and it keeps out the wind noise drastically compared to my Shoei...
