A sneak peek at the third show of the Hunger Artists Theatre Company's 2007 season: Ingmar Bergman's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic play "A Doll's House".
This rarely-seen, stripped-down adaptation is given new life by director Shannon CM Flynn when the tale of a woman who can no longer stand the chokehold society's standards hold is set in the 1950's. Terri Mowrey stars as Nora Helmer, in a cast that features Mark Coyan as Krogstad, Kelly Flynn as Dr. Rank, Scott Johnson as Torvald Helmer and Amber Scott as Christine Linde.
The production runs from March 30th through April 22nd. Visit www.hungerartists.com for more info on "A Doll's House" and other Hunger Artists shows.
An Interracial Doll's House doesn't make any sense. It renders the play nonsensical.

Having seen the production, I have to disagree. There's more to a role than just the look. The actress, Terri Mowrey, may not have looked like what people perceive is a conventional Nora (whose physical appearance is actually not mentioned in the text), she is curvaceous and very beautiful. And on top of that, she gave one of the best performances I've seen on stage. So I think she gets a pass.

Mark's shirt is telling me to drop dead. I don't appreciate that. I'm still totally going to see it, though.
