Will Kelly, from Vintage Guitar Magazine's "Shop of Hard Knocks", shows how to properly setup the action on your guitar, making your own set of custom nut files, and the correct steps to making your instrument play like it should! From adjusting the bridge properly, to setting the depths of the string slots in the nut, there's an ordered and logical way to get the most from your guitar!

  • These "small bitch vices" really are great!!!

  • Could you wrap some very fine sand paper over the guage blade to cut the nut slot? That way it would also leave a nice smooth edge in the nut. I'd guess you'd have to compensate with the thickness guage depending on how thick the paper would be.
