Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio goes through the ideas of Howard Roberts, (the founder of G.I.T.), Accelerator methods.

Accelerated Learning concepts offer a dramatic effect on the ability to take in and retain information. But, they also provide the user with enhanced creative skills as well.

The principles are simple, yet rarely applied. Aspects such as; staying relaxed while learning, taking breaks, working in short time frames, visualizing, and bringing about the whole brain, (learning through creativity and imagination).

In this short video Andrew will discuss elements of Accelerated learning that he has taught since 1995.

The PRACTICE SCHEDULE mentioned in this video is available from the Creative Guitar Studio Website. Follow the link below to get your FREE copy...

  • Andrew does the book actually have scales shapes etc? I need a hand holding type of instruction i need struture i know a few chords and a few penatonics but i need STRUTURE as in do A-B-C in order to learn im 56 retired and have lots of time any ideas Andrew? Thanx Al

  • @nesa407 ,

    Hello Al,

No, the eBook is not a scales and chords manual. It is about how to use your; time, your senses, your mind, and your physiology to learn faster & easier. It is a "learning how to learn" concept that applies many modern learning methods with ancient methodologies. Much of it is based upon the Howard Roberts method of Accelerated Learning (or Speed Learning) used at MI. There are also several other concepts covered in the book as well. But, it is not a guitar lesson book.

  • The craziest thing that i have learned about efficient learning is that it all relates back to Buddhist teachings. Meditation, Relaxation, Self-Awareness, visualization, etc are all Buddhist teachings. If you do research on learning or how all the great minds thought in the world and you also researched Buddhism you will find that Buddhism is 100% linked to the thought process of efficient learning and the thought processes of all the great minds in the world.

  • @naturalsmind ... You are very correct... In fact, Howard Roberts had a book out in the 80's called, "The Accelerator: The Theory-Fingerboard Connection" (by Howard Roberts, Charles Fechter, and Keith Wyatt).

Charles ended up teaching the accelerator classes at G.I.T. (and later recorded a multi-part video series available in the library at M.I.). It discussed quite a good deal of information in regard to many Asian learning methodologies. When applied, they certainly do make a difference.

  • For those of you who are asking Andrew to explain more about visualisation: guys, come on, go and order his book, don't be so ungrateful! Andrew is doing a great job with his youtube videos. We should also support Andrew and appreciate his work and show our gratitude for all the youtube staff that he's done by purchasing his material - especially because it seems he's offering some great stuff. So we learn better and more. If we're really serious about learning it makes sense. It's a win-win.

  • thanks

  • I absolutely love your videos. Very instructive and easy to follow. Thanks for posting Andrew :)

  • Good man , Good advice.

  • try to find the love in what you do; tis a vast step up from discipline... unless you love discipline; but even then it is better to love doing the thing than loving the discipline of making your ego do the thing... :

  • practicing for 12 hours a day, just makes your hand hurt a lot! believe me, I tried it.

but may be because of the strings (12gauge on a acoustic guitar).. lol

  • doesn't get to the point until 5.20 !

  • Thank you...thank you...thank you.....this makes so much sence.....you rock!!!!

  • thank you for being a teacher to those who can't afford guitar lessons but very enthusiastic to learn. may God bless you more...

  • @nesa407 I know u asked AL but u should look up 3 string arpeggios they're easy, fun to practice and sound really cool compared to vaulting scales.
