www.pioneertroubadours.com for more on ramblin jack talks of the road he is to ramble after we leave the Willie Nelson Merle Haggard show in Fort Worth
I had breakfast with Jack, Sunday, August 10, 2008. Jack was in town for the Regina Folk Festival. I've been a long time fan of his since my teens and my older brother & I (deceased 1983) used to listen to his 'Young Brigham' album, and particularly the song '912 Greens' - a rambling talking Kerouacesque blues that had a profound emotional resonance for the both of us.
Ive known Jack for over 30 years, taught me a ton on the guitar and stays with me from time to time. He's an orignal for sure, nothin fake about him. What you see is what you get and what you get when you hear him is Americana music and story tellin at its best. jack is allot of things to allot of people, to me he is my good friend and the man who got me to play in public for the first time. Thanks Jack,,,havin a drink in your honor, sir! Doug Geeting/Alaska
The documentary made tells the story of this living legend. At 20 yrs old Jack toured with the great Woody Guthrie, woody 40, they cruised around the country in car, Played here and there...
After a show in Kelowna, July 25 04 he came out to a pub and told us some stories of the old days....God bless jack, hope all is well, Robert smith said to say hello. Like the Corb Lund tune you played on!
