George Will weighed in on the weather recently on ABC's "This Week," Will said "Come the winter there will be a cold snap, lots of snow, and the same guys, like [Washington Post columnist] E.J. [Dionne], will start lecturing us. There's a difference between weather and climate. I agree with that. We're having some hot weather. Get over it."

Cenk Uygur plays the entire clip of George Will's comments then discusses the reality of our situation.

Notice how we moved AWAY from the term "Global Warming?"

I HATE the term "climate change!" It's yet another reminder of how liberals, progressives, and moderates STUPIDLY let conservatives and their way or responding-w/o-answering dominate the narrative on SCIENCE, of all things! Like SO MANY other subjects, science is not exactly the conservatives' cup of "tea"!

Climate change"...occurs in NORMAL situations! (Who doesn't get this?)

*GLOBAL WARMING* is a WAKE-UP CALL to PLANETARY DANGER!

in order to balance in&out TOA radiation (debate-neutral mid point of "best estimates" skeptic Dr. Lindzen +1.6 & pro Dr. Hansen +2.8) then "Global Warming" will stop when the oceans are ~+2.2 degrees C warmer than about 60 years ago. It'll take a few centuries to mix. Deepest 80% ocean is avge. ~4.4 and that will rise to ~6.8 with my example. That is one of the most significant points that a layperson might understand.

For anybody interested in what "Global Warming" is (few laypersons know) it's an increase in the ocean heat content. Surface temperature is a somewhat complex symptom that affects flora & fauna and it's an okayish proxy that depends on how the ocean is mixing, absorbing and releasing its heat at any time, including any new heat, it isn't "Global Warming". For example if "final" (exc. natural periodic vagaries) CO2x2 average surface temperature of +2.2 degrees C is required

I think I'll go with the science thanks - if you want to call science la la land, good luck to you, but you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow

no mate you're completely wrong here, sorry I don't have time to explain it all to you. So just go on living in la la land, one day, hopefully soon all of you tree-huggers will be enlightened with the facts.

I think you'll find that it's McIntyre and McKitrick's work that is in serious doubt in the field, and Mann's work that is upheld, and has been reproduced many times over in different fields. The medieval warm period was not as warm as now, and is very unlikely to have been global - check the facts.

The hockey stick graph originally put forward by the IPCC has been demonstrated clearly to be fraudulent and misleading McIntyre and McKitrick (2003). It was used deliberately to create the impression the earth's climate has hardly changed in the last two thousand years except for the warming since about 1850. More accurate recreations of the earth's climate over this period clearly show the current warming to be nothing extraordinary and that warm periods such as the MWP were global.

Oh yes, they are doing so badly in first world countries. Poor things. What is really dodgy is allowing an expensive habit like pollution to be free. If people make a mess, there is a cost - it should be borne by the mess makers. Pricing carbon is simply sanity.

I just accept the facts - the climate has always risen and fallen. There has been an anomalous rise since the industrial revolution, going against what natural processes would suggest for the period (eg. solar output). The hockey stick graph shows this. Just the facts.

If you've read all the peer-reviewed literature, please do share with us tales of life in the 24th century, and I'd love to see your time machine while you're at it - that would be fascinating. Also tales of how speed reading developed so rapidly in the upcoming decades to allow such a feat.
