You have been wildly misinformed.
The reason that they tell you that it is (anywhere between 3 and) 7 seconds is to make you not panic or take too long getting out.
If you wait in an capsized helicopter for longer than need, it just might already have you more than 15m underwater be-time you say "....6,7" and undo your harness.
Technically, it is "When all Significant forces cease".
The Heli will never be stable when inverting.
If that is what you recall, your life.

Yep, when upside down, tis best to get outa there rather than hang about...the instructor confirmed that the blades would break off when they made contact witih the water during capsize. Having completed Huet very recently, i know this is true. But it is 7 seconds before disembarkation when chopper is upright and submerged.

aww im pure dreading when i have to do it (N)
This is WRONG ! you must wait 7 secs ( When the heli is stable ) for the Rotars to stop spinning before you exit the heli ! but hey your life !

That only applies if the chopper stays the right way up. If it flips, the rotors will break off when they hit the water and you'll be travelling the other direction from them!
