  • @killerbunny123123 An A6 is impressive in its own way, I suppose, but hardly a component of great singing.

  • @killerbunny123123 mention not Dessay in connection with the divine Lucia

  • @CorneaRealty I totally agree with you ,Lucia Popp was divine,an angel descended from Heaven .Iove her

  • @90lysander Yup, i agree to that, i said so too in the previous comment.

  • @90lysander No they're not. Dessay lost those top notes today and all that changed is that now she is even better and more dramatic. top notes are not THAT important but Dessay's top A6 is something that very few women on the planet have.

  • @killerbunny123123 And, of course, top notes are what singing is all about. *rolls eyes*

  • @90lysander Well, each soprano coloratur is divine in her own section.....We shouldn't compare Dessay to Lucia when it comes to lucia's excellent "der holle rache" but we shudn't mention Lucia in connection to Dessay's divine LONG high F6, F#6, G6, G#6 and staccato A6. Because Lucia popp can not compete in those top notes :)

  • aha! so the great lucia popp has the best sounding high F staccato in queen of the night but isnt a great deal when its a longer F huh? :P Dessay has got a far better high F

  • she's one of my favorite voices, i like her in this aria! only the "ch"s in german were a little strange, but who cares?? lol

  • Lovely as usual Ms Popp. For anyone complaining that the high E's sound high, or stretched - IT IS HIGH... and IT IS A STRETCH!
