I'm assuming you're referring to the Helmholtz resonance chambers. I have them in my ART Pipes in the cat-section as well as in the rear, cat-back section. Both work to interact with the exhaust flow and eliminate unwanted frequencies within the exhaust pulse. The rear ones work to eliminate drone and improve the exhaust note while the ones in the ART Pipes work to do the same, and additionally improve exhaust scavenging, thus improving exhaust flow and performance.

... Summarizing the above ^^^... the front ones make it sound better, remove rasp, and improve performance. The rear ones just work to remove nasty drone and make it all sound better.

how loud is it on a scale from 1-10 ?

@averyh11
I would probably put this setup with the ART Pipes at a comfortably loud 6 or 7. For regular driving, though, it would be closer to a 5. Now that I have added headers, it's probably a solid 8 and pushing the limits of acceptable volume.
