Yet in the next advert Ringo says don't call him by his stage name - so logically the name change to Aviva is to be disregarded as Aviva is to Norwich Union what Ringo Starr is to Richard Starkey.

90 Millions seems way too much money to put on a TVC. Even if it increases Aviva awareness from 35 to 80% (so they say). Bottom line, it's their shareholders money...

Of course, Ringo, you owe your entire career to that cunning decision to change your name. It's lucky that John, Paul and George joined your band and cashed in on your success, which all hung on your name. Wise move, Ringo!
