J. T. Hoggard HS Band reunion in 2006. Jack Stamp was director of bands from 78-82. The band reunited in 2006 for a concert in Wilmington, NC. We were assisted by Ashley HS Symphonic Band with Dawn Perry
@xchochotax This is a mixture of Ashley and other New Hanover County HS students and alumni of Hoggard HS Classes of '78-'82: those who were taught by Jack Stamp when he conducted. I'm proud to say i took part in this as a trumpet (from Ashley HS class of '09)!
that build up at 4:41 just get's me everytime...and then how it hits that wonderful chord...just brilliant...they need to have this performed...at the white house...lol.
I am sure in the actual auditorium this thing sounded AMAZING, cause even with the distortion of the camera's mic...i still got chills...oh man...amazing...
I have watched about 7 versions of this now, trying to decide which I like the most, and this is by far the most mature. The Conductor has realised the drama of the piece, allowing it to 'breathe' in places without destroying the sense of line that other recordings do. Shame about the Euphonium (I think it is Baritone in the U.S.) missing a (Bb?) at 5:30ish; I agree with MusicJohnson that the sound system let you down; I would hear you live, too.

ahhh I'm so sad that the camera's sound quality wasn't so good! I wish I could hear this live!
