It is, however, his earlier pieces and in particular the Suite Española Opus 47 which initially brought Albeniz such fame and succes in his lifetime. This Suite was published 1886. It consists of four highly impressionistic tone poems. The evocation of Granada -surely one of his most Idyllic pieces, the exhilarating portrait of Sevilla and the gay and busling Saeta Cadiz.

  • who can't jump with him at 1:20 when he hits the starting chord~~

  • con moto at 1;23 FING AWESOME

  • A DESTIEMPO

  • buena interpretacion (i like this)

  • Like many aspiring guitarists Bream may have looked up to Segovia, I do not know for sure, but, not to hurt your feelings, Julian has, in my crappy opinion, surpassed him.

  • I am a flamenco guitarist and I much prefer this Bream version to other classical guitarists who seem to feel ( wrongly I think) that this Albeniz Sevilla must be forced into a flamenco sevillanas. As Bream plays it is perfect for my taste.

  • Bream is an animal! :)

What often puzzles me though, is some of his interpretations seem as if he were using slightly different compositions than those usually performed. And I don't mean his artistic stylings either. Even in this performance he definitely plays a few passages quite differently than others I've heard. Granted, this piece is transcribed from the original piano so I guess it's up to his preference.

  • He puts so much of himself into his playing that he can barely stay seated. Truly a demonstration of how a musician has a deep connection with their chosen instrument.

  • bravo!!!!!!!!!
